Science history is usually told as a list of dates and dead names. It shouldn’t be. It’s thousands of years of curious, stubborn, occasionally reckless people arguing with reality until it gave up a secret.

Scientific Chronicles is our attempt to make that history feel alive again: pick any day of the year and see who was born, who died, and what got discovered, invented, or blown up in the process.

How we build each entry

Every birth, death, and breakthrough is cross-checked against primary and reputable secondary sources before it goes live — we’d rather cut a good anecdote than publish a shaky one. Found something that looks off? Open an issue on GitHub and we’ll fix it.

Where to go from here

Poke around, click a random day, and see what kind of world-altering mischief was happening while the rest of the world was fast asleep.
